Spider-Man: Brand New Day is continuing its impressive run at the box office, giving theaters another major hit during the summer movie season.
The Marvel and Sony release opened with an estimated $932 million worldwide, making it the second-biggest opening weekend in movie history at the time. Its domestic opening of about $360 million also set a new record in the U.S. and Canada, surpassing the previous mark held by Avengers: Endgame.
The film has maintained its momentum in the weeks since its debut. During its third weekend, Brand New Day earned another $70 million in North America, remaining at No. 1 at the domestic box office. Its worldwide total has now passed $2 billion, putting the movie among a very small group of films to reach that milestone.

The achievement is particularly significant for the Spider-Man franchise. The movie has now moved past Spider-Man: No Way Home as Sony’s biggest release, according to recent box-office reports. It also reached the $2 billion mark faster than most movies in history, with only Avengers: Endgame reaching the milestone more quickly.
Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker, with Zendaya also appearing in the movie. The strong audience response has helped Brand New Day stand out in a crowded summer movie season, alongside other major releases such as Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
With its continued performance, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has become more than another successful superhero release. Its box-office results are also providing a major boost to the wider 2026 theatrical market, showing that audiences remain willing to turn out in large numbers for major franchise movies.
